Day 1: Australia/Singapore/Siem Reap

Board Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore and then board connecting flight to Siem Reap.  On arrival we are welcomed by our National Escort and transferred to our hotel for 3 nights. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Siem Reap/Angkor

After breakfast, we visit the outskirts of the Angkor complex to view the delicately carved Banteay Srei and the well-preserved Banteay Samre. This afternoon we explore highlights on the ‘little circuit’, including Ta Prohm where you can still see stone structures entangled by the massive root systems of fig trees. Enjoy sunset views over Angkor Wat before dinner at a local restaurant.   Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 3: Siem Reap/Angkor

This morning, we visit some of the outstanding sites in the fortified city of Angkor Thom including the Victory Gate, Bayon, Baphuon and the Terrace of Elephants. We also tour the largest and most magnificent temple Angkor Wat, with its 800-m long bas-reliefs.  Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

 Day 4: Siem Reap/HCMC

For something completely different, today we enjoy a boat ride on Tonle Sap Lake. This is the largest permanent freshwater lake in SE Asia.  We explore a floating village which moves according to water levels and currents. After lunch, departure transfer to airport for flight to HCMC (also known as Saigon).  On arrival check into hotel for 3 nights.

Day 5: HCMC/Cu Chi Tunnels/HCMC

This morning we explore Ho Chi Minh City on a sightseeing tour visiting the Reunification Hall and walking along Nguyen Hue Boulevard, visiting the Peoples Committee, Central PO and Notre Dame Cathedral.  After lunch we visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels used by the Viet Cong during the war. Return to HCMC. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: HCMC/Mekong Delta/HCMC

Today we leave HCMC for Cantho, the capital of Mekong Delta. This afternoon we visit a bonsai and plant nursery and a coconut candy workshop and experience daily life on the mighty Mekong. After lunch, we return to HCMC. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: HCMC/Hoi An

After breakfast departure transfer to airport to board flight to Danang.  Transfer to Hoi An and check into hotel for 3 nights.  Afternoon free to drink in the atmosphere of this ancient city by strolling along its streets or watching the world go by from one of the local outdoor cafes.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Hoi An

After breakfast, we proceed on a walking tour to discover colonial architecture including the Japanese Covered Bridge and ancient Chinese and Japanese merchant houses.  We also discover numerous art galleries and tailor shops.  Hoi An is a shopper’s paradise full of tailors just waiting to take your orders!  This evening you are welcome to participate in a cooking class.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Hoi An

Today you are free to stroll around town to visit the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, explore the local fish market, catch up on some shopping or to relax on Cua Dai Beach.  Lunch and dinner at local restaurants.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Hoi An/Hue

After breakfast, drive to Hue with en route sightseeing at Cham Museum. On arrival in Hue, check in to hotel for 1 night.  After lunch explore this imperial city including the Citadel and Dong Khanh Mausoleum. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Hue/Hanoi

After breakfast, we board our own colourful dragon boat to cruise along the Perfume River, stopping at Thien Mu Pagoda and Emperor Minh Mang’s tomb.  Afternoon transfer to the airport to board flight to Hanoi.  On arrival transfer to hotel & spend evening at leisure in Hanoi.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Hanoi

This morning we visit the complex containing Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum & a museum celebrating his life. Afterwards, tour the One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house and the Temple of Literature.  After lunch at a specialty restaurant, we set off on a sightseeing tour around Hanoi, including the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple.  We also enjoy a cyclo (rickshaw) tour.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 13: Hanoi/Halong Bay

After breakfast, transfer to Halong Bay.  We board our boat where we stay overnight.  Enjoy a seafood lunch while meandering amongst the magnificent limestone pinnacles jutting from the bay, visiting caves en route and stopping for a swim.  Overnight on boat.

Day 14: Halong Bay/Hanoi

After lunch we disembark and drive back to Hanoi.  After dinner, enjoy the amusing antics of Vietnamese water puppets.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 15-16: Hanoi/Australia

After breakfast, departure transfer to the airport to board flight to Australia via Singapore. Arrive home the following day to share your unique & colourful experiences in Indochina with friends & family.
